Living in service to Life.

Continuous Balance

With every step I take
I shift to compensate
A most amazing thing
I find I’m balancing

It’s something that I do
Like tying my own shoe
It’s something I was taught
I do it without thought

But when I was just learning
I struggled through the yearning
I had to persevere
To get to there from here

And if I trip or fall
Which happens to us all
My life skill keeps improving
Adjust and keep on moving

Uncertainties in life
Can fill my days with strife
Finding balance keeps me straight
It’s a process not a state

The Spinning Top

The spinning top
Full of energy and focus
Balances easily on one point
Deflecting obstacles and barriers
Momentum and design
Fulfilling its intended purpose

The spinning top
Is the ultimate expression
Of universal laws at play
Each balancing the other precisely
The gracious exchange of power
In a seamless fluid dance

The spinning top
Encounters resistance
Life is slowing it down
It doesn’t question why
But accepts what is
As the beauty of the pattern is revealed

The spinning top
Begins to wobble
Its path begins to weave
Falling deeper into the grip
Of gravity and friction
Until it can spin no more

The motionless top
Full of potential
Waits for a helping hand
A compassionate spirit
Whose only goal
Is the joy of watching it succeed

The spinning top
Precisely balanced
Must also stop and rest
And when it completes the cycle
Exhibits yet another form
Of the principle of balance

Ask

Ask yourself a question
Ask then let it be
Go about your business
Most assuredly

You will not find the answer
By searching with your mind
Only when it’s quiet
The answer you will find

Ask yourself a question
Ask then let it go
And when it’s time to act on it
The answer you will know

You will not find the answer
By searching with your brain
No matter how long you think
Your search will end in vain
